If you attended 'BrookFest last year, then you know it's an event you don't want to miss. Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 3 and enjoy live music, festival food, car cruise-in, inflatables, miniature golf, face painting, cornhole tournaments (register below), and much more! And for our Bengals/Browns fanatics, we'll have the game televised just for you! Admission and all activities are FREE; food and beverage will be additional. It's fun for all ages, so invite your friends and neighbors and let's have some good ol' festival fun!

epic Student Ministries presents...79ers Fall Retreat - Re:Acts! The retreat continues to be one of the most significant events for our students going into 6th, 7th, and 8th grade as students have the opportunity to experience a variety of activities such as swimming, archery, high ropes courses, zip lines, and rock walls.  However, the 79ers retreat is much more than just exciting activities. It's about encountering Christ through teaching, reflection, and significant events.  This years' theme is "Re:Acts" where we will take a look at how the early church in Acts functioned to show us how we should live our lives as the church and put our words into action. The cost is $75. Scholarships are available, please contact Jarod for more information. We'll meet at SouthBrook at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 1 and return around 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 3.

Title: Adventuring Through The Bible

This class provides a panorama view of God and His Story. The Bible has one message, tells one story, moves to one point, and directs our attention to one person – Jesus Christ. Our journey will look at God's creation where His Story begins with a picture of creation as He intended it before the fall. The remainder of God's Word is His passionate story of seeking restoration for the crown of creation – fallen humanity. Class participants will receive an outline of each Book along with its purpose and objective with an emphasis on practical application. Cost is $18 per person. Our SouthBrook Kids decorated jars to collect money for those in need during the Christmas season. The jars were handed out on the weekend of July 17-18 so start filling it with loose change and dollars. Once full, you can decide as a family who should receive the jar. Even if you don't have kids in Harvestland, you can help, too! Please take only one jar per family and all of the instructions are enclosed inside. Keep us posted and tell us how you're doing between now and Christmas. We are inspired by your stories, so go to our Your Story page and share how you brought joy to someone through this Kids in Action event. Think about how your acts of kindness will be a blessing to others. Where will your jar end up?

SouthBrook Men, here's your chance to create some lasting memories with your kids, nieces, nephews, grandkids...or even the kid next door. We're headed to the Pine Tree Camp area at Cowan Lake State Park (south side of the lake, just east of the public beach) for our annual Dad & Kids Campout. See the park map for directions (1750 Osborn, Wilmington Ohio 45177). The cost is $7.50 per person. Join us for some campfire fun on Friday evening, September 17 through Saturday morning, September 18!

Here's what to bring:
- Tent, sleeping bags, pillows
- Flashlight and fresh batteries
- Appropriate clothing, hiking shoes, swimsuit and towel

Title: Golf Outing: Thirst Project..."fore" missions!

Thirst Project..."fore" missions is a SouthBrook-sponsored Golf Outing at Heatherwoode Golf Club. It will be a fundraiser for the Thirst Project, an effort to fund water wells in Swaziland. In the outing, teams of 4 will play 18 holes of golf with an 8 a.m. tee time. It's open to men and women of all ages and the cost is $100 per person with lunch included. Register yourself and/or your foursome in order to reserve your spot in the outing. If you want to play as a foursome, please select a team captain in advance and enter his/her name as you register.

We are also in need of individual and business sponsors  to maximize the success of the event. Sponsorship levels start at $150. epic is hosting another premiere event for students in 7th - 12th grades. Come join us for a hootin' good time at Rancho Nacido Libre on Saturday, Oct. 16! Hay rides, bon fire, games, music and just some good ol' fun! We will have a DJ spinning some classic country tunes to kick your heels up and some dance boots to get your groove on. It's FREE and a great opportunity to bring your friends along!

Due to this event, Middle School epic will not meet at SouthBrook on Oct. 16. Instead, parents should drop kids off at the Hootenanny event by 5 p.m. in order to make it to church to attend the 5:30 p.m. service. Kids will be ready for pick up by 9 p.m. SouthBrook will not be providing any transportation.

Adult individuals with specific skills in business, leadership, teaching and finance will find this trip to be a great way to put their faith in action. Title: Raising A Modern Day Knight

This experience provides an opportunity for dads to establish some ground floor values for what it takes to help their sons venture into manhood. Based on the book "Raising A Modern Day Knight", we will use experiential learning and adventure to address three building blocks for the relationship between a father and a son and God's plan: 1) A vision for manhood, 2) A code of conduct, and 3) A transcendent cause. It is designed for fathers and sons (5th - 9th grade), and is also appropriate for boys with mentors or sponsors. Cost is $20 per dad, sons included. He loves you! Imagine that! Imagine having two days to focus on God and His love for you. Join us for laughter, music and stories that will make you chuckle as you wipe away a knowing tear. Guest speakers include Lisa Harper, Karen James, Luci Swindoll, and Kimberly Cash Tate. Musical guests include Natalie Grant and Mary Mary with Drama by Nicole Johnson. Tickets are $89 and includes lunch on both days. It will be a great event that you don't want to miss! The event is in Columbus, Ohio at the Nationwide Arena on Friday, April 29 (10 a.m.–3:30 p.m. and 7–9:30 p.m.) through Saturday, April 30 (9 a.m.–5 p.m.).
