Title: Big Splash Baptism Weekend
Category: Baptism
Description:

Baptism is an important outward sign of belief in Jesus and shows a willingness to surrender to God's power in our lives. Our "Big Splash" Weekend on Aug. 27-28 (during all services) is a time to celebrate those who have made the decision to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. Since epic will not meet, students should attend services in the Main Theater.

Uou won't be asked to write a testimony or say anything. All are welcome, adults and students—first timers, re-baptisms, or those who were sprinkled and want to be obedient. With multiple tubs outside (weather permitting), all you'll do is walk on up and get baptized under the summer sun! If it rains, the baptisms will take place in the Main Theater.

Click here to register for Sun., Aug. 28 at 9:30 a.m.

To learn more before taking that step, our Baptism Orientation is an excellent resource for further explanation as to why we celebrate baptism the way we do. It's optional and not required for baptism, but available if you have questions. Go to Events to view our upcoming classes.

It’s a big decision. But one you’ll never regret. Think about it. And when you’re ready, we are here to take that step with you. If you have any questions, please contact Rita Brown.

Title: CIY Mix
Category: Students
Description:
MIX is a 4-day event for 6th-8th graders that engages students through fun and interactive activities along with biblical teaching and small groups.

MIX understands middle school students need their own experience as it is a unique time in their lives–growing and learning different than any other age group. They’re still young enough to play, but old enough to start understanding core ideals that will stay with them the rest of their lives. It’s their chance to be exactly who they are: to play, listen and learn as themselves. Students will understand their identity in God’s Kingdom, and be challenged to embrace the work He has prepared for them.

The conference is at Cedarville University. Buses depart from SouthBrook (front of building facing Washington Church) on Sunday, June 26 at 12 p.m. and return on Thursday, June 30 at 12 p.m. Cost is $325 through March 31; $345 from Apr. 1-26; and $365 from Apr. 27-June 11. For questions, contact Shane Hively.

Title: Creations for Christ Team Meetings
Category: General
Description:

Creations for Christ meets monthly at SouthBrook to fellowship and create handmade items for Cancer Hope survivors. There is no obligation to attend, but the meeting is open to all who are interested.

Join us from 2:30-5 p.m. on these dates: Jan. 23, Feb. 27, Mar. 26, Apr. 23, May 28, June 25, July 23, Aug. 27, Sept. 24, and Oct. 22.

Title: Date Night at SouthBrook
Category: Couples | Marriage
Taught By: Shaunti & Jeff Feldhahn

Shaunti and Jeff Feldhahn are best-selling authors, popular speakers and nationally-renowned social researchers. Twelve years ago this average couple stumbled over some things they just didn’t "get" about each other and have used their analytical background to help other semi-confused couples decode each other ever since. Both with graduate degrees from Harvard, Shaunti and Jeff are the authors of many groundbreaking books and their eye-opening findings are regularly featured on The Today Show, The New York Times, and Focus on the Family. As the primary researcher, Shaunti is always in the middle of her next research project, while attorney-entrepreneur Jeff is always in the middle of his next technology company start-up. The Feldhahns have two children and live in Atlanta, Georgia

Description:

Do you know what your mate is secretly thinking but doesn’t know how to say? Are you aware of the deep inner insecurities and needs of the vast majority of men or women? Do you know what secretly helps or hurts your spouse, and what to do differently? Groundbreaking researchers, Shaunti and Jeff Feldhahn, have dug out these crucial truths in studies of over 15,000 men and women. You may have seen them on The Today Show, The New York Times, or Focus on the Family, and now is your unrepeatable chance to learn the real deal and gain this ultra-practical knowledge for yourself, up close and in person. Whether you want to make a great relationship even better or are trying to breathe new life into a struggling one, you’ll love this encouraging, fascinating and ultra-practical talk.

Enjoy a Date Night at SouthBrook with Shaunti and Jeff Feldhahn. All couples in all stages are invited. Grab dinner before the event, then head over to SouthBrook at 6 p.m. for dessert before Jeff and Shaunti hit the stage from 6:30-10 p.m. No childcare is available. Cost is $20 per couple.

Title: Men's Series: Crazy Love - Part 2

God is Love—a crazy, relentless, all-powerful love. It's crazy, if you think about it. The God of the universe, the Creator, loves us with a radical, self-sacrificing love. And once we encounter His love, as Francis Chan describes it, we will never be the same. God's love is the most amazing and powerful thing in the world. He wants us to experience it! Not just to make us whole, but to be forever changed by it.

As a host site again this year, we wanted to give a taste for what you will experience at the Summit this coming August. And, there’s no better message for women to hear on Mother’s Day than Dr. Brene Brown’s inspiring talk on vulnerability, courage, worthiness and shame. Invite the special women in your life and celebrate with them at SouthBrook. Sharing this impactful message will be a gift that stays with them for years to come. Join us for services on: Saturday, May 7 at 5:30 p.m. or Sunday, May 8 at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.

At the Liberty Campus, Laura Buffington will be teaching. Join us for services at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 8.

Title: Passage Banquet
Category: Students
Description:

Graduation is approaching faster than you would like. Your child is growing up too quickly. College and adulthood are right around the corner. It’s all so overwhelming, to say the least.

This year, we are longing to come alongside you, the parents or guardians, to walk students into adulthood with a Passage Banquet for graduating seniors and their parents. Join us for a formal evening on Sunday, May 22 from 6-8 p.m. with a fancy meal, laughter, shared memories, and a moment for parents and students. This year, Charlie will be our keynote speaker.

During the evening, parents have the opportunity to read a blessing over their child and challenge them in their faith as they take on the next stage of their journey. Parents are invited to play an important role in making the night impactful by writing a blessing, so students understand that they have what it takes for the journey ahead as they listen to words of blessing from their parents. As a staff, we will also honor each senior with a small gift.

We ask that you prayerfully consider being a part of this memorable evening as we take time to honor, encourage and pray for our graduating seniors.

Title: PLAY Study (1st in series)
Category: General
Taught By: DVD-Driven
Description:

We want God to use our Personality, Learnings, Abilities and Yearnings to go into the world and make it as He intended. Personality is a combination of characteristics that make you...YOU! Learnings are the accumulated data and wisdom from pain experiences that grow, mature and refine us and lead to shaping, purpose and God’s glory in the world. Abilities, combined with the Spirit in us, make something special come out of us to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Yearnings are bringing God into the world when our gifts intersect with the world’s real needs. When God is in you, there will be places in your soul that burn with His desire to set this world right.

Title: Player Profiles Study (2nd in series)
Category: General
Taught By: DVD-Driven
Description:

As a follow up to the PLAY Study, we look at biblical characters that have discovered their shape—who embody and exemplify how God puts people into PLAY to illustrate the spiritual abilities in Scripture and teach us about the heroic players in the history of our faith.

Through this study, we come to know ourselves better and see how God can use our lives for His bigger purposes. In an Assessment, we determine Spiritual Abilities—gifts that, combined with the Spirit in us, make something special of Him come out of us. We discover these divinely enabled Abilities that we may not know we have since surrendering our lives to Christ or that may be hidden in us because of not yet surrendering.
