Title: Big Splash Baptism Weekend
Category: Baptism
Description:

Baptism is an important outward sign of belief in Jesus and shows a willingness to surrender to God's power in our lives. On Aug. 27-28 (during services), we'll celebrate those who make the decision to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior with a Big Splash Weekend. You won't be asked to share a testimony or say anything. All are welcome, adults and students—first timers, re-baptisms, or those sprinkled and want to be obedient. With multiple tubs, all you'll do is walk up and get baptized! Since epic will not meet, students should attend services in the Main Theater.

If you know in advance, please go ahead and register below to be baptized. If you're not yet sure, and you decide "in the moment" to be baptized, we'll be ready with a change of clothes!

Click here to register for Sat., Aug. 27 at 5:30 p.m.
Click here to register for Sun., Aug. 28 at 9:30 a.m.
Click here to register for Sun., Aug. 28 at 11:30 a.m.

To learn more before taking that step, our Baptism Orientation is an excellent resource for further explanation as to why we celebrate baptism the way we do. It's optional and not required for baptism, but available if you have questions. Go to Events to view our upcoming classes.

It’s a big decision. But one you’ll never regret. Think about it. And when you’re ready, we are here to take that step with you. If you have any questions, please contact Rita Brown.

Here’s a sneak peek from Big Splash 2015. Come on in…the water’s fine!

Title: Date Night at SouthBrook
Category: Couples | Marriage
Taught By: Shaunti & Jeff Feldhahn

Shaunti and Jeff Feldhahn are best-selling authors, popular speakers and nationally-renowned social researchers. Twelve years ago this average couple stumbled over some things they just didn’t "get" about each other and have used their analytical background to help other semi-confused couples decode each other ever since. Both with graduate degrees from Harvard, Shaunti and Jeff are the authors of many groundbreaking books and their eye-opening findings are regularly featured on The Today Show, The New York Times, and Focus on the Family. As the primary researcher, Shaunti is always in the middle of her next research project, while attorney-entrepreneur Jeff is always in the middle of his next technology company start-up. The Feldhahns have two children and live in Atlanta, Georgia

Description:

Do you know what your spouse is thinking but doesn’t know how to say?
Are you aware of the inner insecurities and needs of men or women?
Do you know what helps or hurts your spouse, and what to do differently?

Groundbreaking researchers, Shaunti and Jeff Feldhahn, have dug out these crucial truths in studies of over 15,000 men and women. You may have seen them on The Today Show, The New York Times, or Focus on the Family, and now is your unrepeatable chance to learn the real deal and gain this ultra-practical knowledge for yourself, up close and in person.

Whether you want to make a great relationship even better or are trying to breathe new life into a struggling one, you’ll love this encouraging and fascinating talk on Friday, July 29. All couples invited, married or dating. Grab dinner before the event, then head over to SouthBrook at 6 p.m. for dessert (DLM Killer Brownies®, to be exact!) before Shaunti and Jeff hit the stage from 6:30-10 p.m. No childcare is available. Cost is $20 per couple and tickets are required.

God is Love—a crazy, relentless, all-powerful love. It's crazy, if you think about it. The God of the universe, the Creator, loves us with a radical, self-sacrificing love. We want God to use our Personality, Learnings, Abilities and Yearnings to go into the world and make it as He intended. Personality is a combination of characteristics that make you...YOU! Learnings are the accumulated data and wisdom from pain experiences that grow, mature and refine us and lead to shaping, purpose and God’s glory in the world. Abilities, combined with the Spirit in us, make something special come out of us to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Yearnings are bringing God into the world when our gifts intersect with the world’s real needs. When God is in you, there will be places in your soul that burn with His desire to set this world right.

As a follow up to the PLAY Study, we look at biblical characters that have discovered their shape—who embody and exemplify how God puts people into PLAY to illustrate the spiritual abilities in Scripture and teach us about the heroic players in the history of our faith.

Through this study, we come to know ourselves better and see how God can use our lives for His bigger purposes. In an Assessment, we determine Spiritual Abilities—gifts that, combined with the Spirit in us, make something special of Him come out of us. We discover these divinely enabled Abilities that we may not know we have since surrendering our lives to Christ or that may be hidden in us because of not yet surrendering.

Title: Women's Study: A Woman's Heart
Category: Women
Description:

Perhaps no Old Testament event so dramatically illustrates God's persistent desire to relate to His children as the building of the tabernacle in the wilderness. Through the tabernacle, God initiated a deeper relationship with His chosen people by bringing reconciliation and revealing His glory. And certainly, no Old Testament event so richly prefigures the coming of the true Tabernacle, Jesus Christ. In this 10-week in-depth study, Beth Moore challenges you to prepare your heart, like the holy of holies, to become a home for His love and glory—a dwelling place for the Most High God. Title: Women's Study: Jonah
Category: Women
Description:

The prophet Jonah's existence was interrupted by a call of God that would require a complete change of life. When Jonah was willing to allow God to interrupt his life, the result was revival in an entire city. So, how exactly does Jonah’s journey relate to yours? As we look back on the big picture of life, it’s easy to see how God worked things together for good. But wouldn’t it be great if we could embrace the challenging times instead of running from them, like Jonah did? In this 7-week study, Priscilla Shirer redefines interruption and shows how it can be God's invitation to do something beyond our wildest dreams. Registration closes on Aug. 23.
