Title: Baptism Orientation
Category: Baptism
Taught By: Roz Mitakides

Roz and her husband, Drew, have been at SouthBrook since 1996 and Roz served on SouthBrook's Vision Team for several years. She has a strong career background in training, counseling and Human Resources Management, but her true passion is sharing the Word of God in a way that is easily understood. She has years of inductive Bible study and has learned first hand the power and healing available in God's Word. Her greatest joy is sharing the Word with others.

Description:

Title: CIY Mix
Category: Students
Description:
MIX is an event for 6th-8th graders at Cedarville University which engages students through tactile, interactive and fun activities coupled with Biblical teaching and small group interaction.

MIX understands middle school students need their own experience. At a unique time in their lives, students are growing and learning different than any other age group. Still young enough to need to play, but old enough to start understanding some core ideals that will stay with them the rest of their lives. For this reason, MIX isn’t designed for high school students or preteens. It’s specifically designed for middle school students–for it’s their chance to be exactly who they are: to play, listen and learn as themselves.

It’s also created for adult leaders to build relationships with students that will last long after the MIX experience. At MIX, students will come to understand their identity in God’s Kingdom, and be challenged to embrace the Kingdom work He has prepared for them.

Arrive at SouthBrook on June 25 at 10:30 a.m. for check in and bus departure from the new parking lot by Dayton Christian. Return on June 29 at 12 p.m. Cost is $325 through March 31; $350 from Apr. 1-25; $375 from Apr. 26-May 31; and $400 from June 1-10.

Title: CIY Move
Category: Students
Description:

CIY Move is designed to amplify the call of Christ on the lives of high school students to become Kingdom workers. We'll meet at SouthBrook at 9 a.m. on June 19, stay in dorms at Hope College in Holland, MI, and return on June 24 at 4 p.m. Cost is: $325 from Jan. 4-31; $350 from Feb. 1-28; $375 from Mar. 1-31; and $400 from April 1-May 15.

Sometimes you’re caught off guard. You’re doing what you’re supposed to. You know all the right answers to all the right questions. AND THEN…the unexpected happens, and you realize nothing is what you thought it would be. Sometimes you struggle to live up to your word and feel condemned by failures. You’re terrified of what you know you should do, convinced the task is too great and your influence too small. AND THEN…you come face to face with genuine love and acceptance you didn’t think was possible. You experience a power that is unstoppable.

Simon Peter was a simple man minding his own business, doing the things a fisherman does. One early morning he was exhausted and frustrated, having spent an entire night fishing with nothing to show for it. Things just didn’t seem to be going his way. AND THEN…he met Jesus. At MOVE, we'll look at several stories from Simon Peter's life and see what “AND THEN…” moments Jesus might have in store for you.

Title: Easter Services - Liberty
Category: General
Description:

If we skip the Garden, if we don't walk through our own Gethsemane, if we don't feel pain, then we won't heal from pain. If Jesus hadn't experienced Gethsemane and the cross and death, we would not have a Savior who conquered death. If He hadn't taken on the darkness of the world, allowing flesh to tear then close up again, we wouldn't know what healing looks like. We wouldn't have hope. Our small minds wouldn't be able to define hope without the picture of the cross and the scraping of the stone rolling away. We can't grow from, heal from, or survive our own Gethsemane(s) without Jesus' Gethsemane and what happens afterwards.

Invite friends, neighbors, family—and join us as we experience the hope of Christ together at the Liberty Campus on Sunday, April 16 at 10:30 a.m.

Children's Ministry is open at all services. Students (6th-12th grade) should attend with their family. SouthBrook Liberty meets at the Lakota East Freshman Building located at 7630 Bethany Road, Middletown, Ohio 45044.

Title: Men's Series: Just Walk Across The Room
Category: Men
Description:

More than two thousand years ago, Jesus introduced the perfect model for evangelism. He left the marvelous adoration of the angels and the perfection of heaven, and He chose to “walk” clear across the cosmos. He had no memorized script, no forced formulas. Instead, He was armed only with an offer of redemption to people just like you and me, many of whom were neck-deep in pain of their own making. Today, the goal for every Christian is to reflect Christ’s love and follow His example by taking simple walks across rooms.

There is no cost to participate. Study resources (book and participant guide) are both available at Amazon. The resources are helpful, but not required. Join us from 6-7:30 a.m. or 7-8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, May 3 - 24.

Category: General
Taught By: DVD-Driven
Description:

We want God to use our Personality, Learnings, Abilities and Yearnings to go into the world and make it as He intended. Personality is a combination of characteristics that make us! Learnings are accumulated data and wisdom from pain experiences that grow, mature and refine us. Abilities, combined with the Spirit in us, make something special come out of us to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Yearnings are bringing God into the world as our gifts intersect with the world’s real needs. When God is in us, there will be places in our soul that burn with His desire to set the world right.

Taught By: DVD-Driven
Description:

As a PLAY Study follow up, we look at biblical characters that have discovered their shape—who embody and exemplify how God puts people into PLAY to illustrate the spiritual abilities in Scripture and teach about the heroic players in the history of our faith.

In this study, we come to know ourselves better and see how God can use our lives for His bigger purposes. In an Assessment, we determine Spiritual Abilities—gifts that, combined with the Spirit in us, make something special of Him come out of us. We discover these divinely enabled Abilities that we may not know we have since surrendering our lives to Christ or that may be hidden because of not yet surrendering.

Title: Provoke
Category: General
Description:

Leadership is a series of events or teachings we have either learned along the way or if humble enough, have learned from someone else. By listening to others who humbly share their experiences, we would be amazed at how quickly each of us would pick up our own problems. Yet often, leaders are not vulnerable enough to let others see their weaknesses. Sharing those fears quite simply reminds us that we are not alone and together, we can accomplish so much more.

Some of us are too comfortable. Life is good. No big problems.
Could we be Provoked to do more?

Some are tired, worn out, and Provoked by life’s circumstances.
Could we be comforted and shown that we are not alone?

Through Provoke, a NEW! leadership session, we'll look closely at these questions. Although geared toward business people, it's open to anyone as we meet monthly on the first Tuesday from 7-8 a.m. in the Small Theater. No cost or registration required.

Description:

SouthBrook Kids (age 3–5th grade) will enjoy a Field Day on the front lawn during all services on June 24-25 at the Miamisburg campus and on June 25 at the Liberty campus to have some fun in the summer sun. Since we'll be outside, kids should dress in play clothes as we'll have inflatables, bounce houses, and much more for all to enjoy. If it rains, Field Day will simply move indoors. If you're a parent or an adult and want to help run a few of the games, please contact Michelle Yost (Miamisburg) or Kerry Shrewsbury (Liberty).

Commit to being a part of this annual event designed to stretch and challenge you with world-class speakers, interactive dialogue and practical training. No matter where you lead, the Summit is a world-class experience designed to help you get better and embrace your grander vision—the reason God called you to lead. Contact: GLS Team.

The Summit will be telecast LIVE at SouthBrook Miamisburg on Thursday, Aug. 10 and Friday, Aug. 11 (9:30–5:30 EST) from Willow Creek Church.
