Title: "The Global Leadership Summit"
Category: General
Description:

Whether at church, school, business or home, you lead people and projects every day. You lead in a culture that is constantly changing and redefining itself. Leadership takes perseverance, dedication, and a commitment to stretch your mind, expand your heart and use your God-given gifts to impact the world in real and powerful ways. Leaders are learners—and the best investment you can make in your leadership is to spend 2 days at The Global Leadership Summit as a participant…or, for FREE as a volunteer!

At the Summit, you will gather with thousands of church and business leaders across North America. As a proven tool to leverage, the Summit produces compelling outcomes for leaders by presenting opportunities to sharpen skills and develop the people you lead. Commit to being a part of this annual event designed to stretch and challenge you with world-class speakers, interactive dialogue and practical training. No matter where you lead, the Summit is a world-class experience designed to help you get better and embrace your grander vision—the reason God called you to lead.

The Summit will be telecast LIVE at SouthBrook on Thursday, Aug. 6 and Friday, Aug. 7 (9:30 a.m.5:30 p.m. EST) from Willow Creek Church.

Register Today!

To make this event happen we need 150 volunteers. As a volunteer, you make an impact. You help to strengthen leaders. To build the church. To help people reach for God. Volunteers play an important part in giving participants a pleasant experience while at the Summit. And along with volunteering comes a few perks:

  • FREE 2-day admission to the Summit
  • Full access to Volunteer Central, our volunteer hospitality area

If you’re interested and available to be a Summit volunteer, sign up online!

Please Note: We have currently fulfilled our volunteer needs, but will put you on a waiting list if a position becomes available.

Title: Big Splash Baptism Weekend
Category: Baptism
Description:

Baptism is an important outward sign of belief in Jesus and shows a willingness to surrender to God's power in our lives. Our "Big Splash" Weekend on Aug. 29-30 (during all services) is a time to celebrate those who have made the decision to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. Since epic will not meet, students should attend services in the Main Theater.

This weekend, you won't be asked to write a testimony or say anything. All are welcome, adults and students—first timers, re-baptisms, or those who were sprinkled and want to be obedient. With multiple tubs outside (weather permitting), all you'll do is walk on up and get baptized under the summer sun! If it rains, the baptisms will take place in the Main Theater.

Click here to register for Sat., Aug. 29 at 5:30 p.m.
Click here to register for Sun., Aug. 30 at 9:30 a.m.
Click here to register for Sun., Aug. 30 at 11:30 a.m.

To learn more before taking that step, our Baptism Orientation is an excellent resource for further explanation as to why we celebrate baptism the way we do. It's optional and not required for baptism, but available if you have questions. Go to Events to view our upcoming classes.

It’s a big decision. But one you’ll never regret. Think about it. And when you’re ready, we are here to take that step with you. If you have any questions, please contact Rita Brown.

Title: Family Retreat
Category: General, Kids, Students

One of our great hopes for this church is for people to experience the presence of God in their daily lives. We believe there are several practices, what we call the Five S’s that can lead us in knowledge and intimacy with the God who desperately wants to know us.

It’s simply a day of fun and purpose as a family at Camp Chautauqua! We’ll have some good ol’ summertime fun with swimming, miniature golf, basketball, gaga (and more!) while also learning what it could look like to be a 5S family. Meals are provided. Title: InSync Marriage Sessions
Category: Couples | Marriage
Description:

InSync is a story of when you first get married. Your steps are often out of sync. One of you may be independent; while the other is desiring more out of you as a spouse. You have your own ideas of parenting, but your spouse sees it differently. Finances also become an issue because you don't seem to manage money in the same way. And when such differences arise, a marriage gets out of sync.

Marriage is a journey of figuring out a pace that works well for both husband and wife. One of you may need to slow down, while the other quickens the pace so that you can walk in sync with each other. Randy and Sue Ann Creamer will share their journey as a couple using humor, stories, and real-life examples by leading discussions about intimacy, parenting, finances, conflict and more.

Monthly, we'll will take a different topic and explore how to improve so couples can find a way to walk in sync. Join us on Tuesday, Sept. 1 and then the third Tuesday of each month from October to May.

Title: PLAY Study (1st in series)
Category: General
Taught By: DVD-Driven
Description:

We want God to use our Personality, Learnings, Abilities and Yearnings to go into the world and make it as He intended. Personality is a combination of characteristics that make you...YOU! Learnings are the accumulated data and wisdom from pain experiences that grow, mature and refine us and lead to shaping, purpose and God’s glory in the world. Abilities, combined with the Spirit in us, make something special come out of us to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Yearnings are bringing God into the world when our gifts intersect with the world’s real needs. When God is in you, there will be places in your soul that burn with His desire to set this world right.

Title: Player Profiles Study (2nd in series)
Category: General
Taught By: DVD-Driven
Description:

As a follow up to the PLAY Study, we look at biblical characters that have discovered their shape—who embody and exemplify how God puts people into PLAY to illustrate the spiritual abilities in Scripture and teach us about the heroic players in the history of our faith.

Through this study, we come to know ourselves better and see how God can use our lives for His bigger purposes. In an Assessment, we determine Spiritual Abilities—gifts that, combined with the Spirit in us, make something special of Him come out of us. We discover these divinely enabled Abilities that we may not know we have since surrendering our lives to Christ or that may be hidden in us because of not yet surrendering.

It's FREE admission, but bring a few dollars for concessions (all below $.75 cents—now that's a bargain matinee!).

Back by popular demand, Buddy the Elf will once again hit the big screens at SouthBrook. Invite your friends! Bring chairs/blankets, stake out a spot in our theater, then sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

To add to the fun, celebrate in style and wear your most tacky Christmas attire. Nothing says cheer like snowmen, Santas and jingle bells in applique, yarn and sequins (especially if the ensemble practically outshines the Christmas tree). It's optional, but we hope you'll flaunt those sweaters proudly for a holly jolly evening to kick off the season.

Get FREE tickets for each movie-goer! If you get 'em by Nov. 29, it's a win-win. We know you're coming. And you get a chance to win a prize!

Tickets not yet available. Please check back soon.

And to make it all happen, we'll need volunteers to lend a hand. Our volunteer elves (adults and kids) aren’t naughty, they’re nice…and for being nice all elves get a free beverage and unlimited popcorn! Check out the available positions and be one of our volunteer elves! Registration links coming soon!

Title: Take the Survey!
Category: General
Description:

As we move toward an additional campus to further expand God's Kingdom, we would like to ask for your valuable input. Through this survey, we will be better equipped to plan and prepare while having a clearer vision of what that site in the Monroe/Liberty Township area will look like. Everyone (18 and older) is encouraged to participate even if you do not plan to make the new location your church home. All spouses and students in the same household should take it individually. It's short and simple, and will only take 10 minutes. The survey will remain open from July 25–Aug. 10. We appreciate your time and participation!

Title: Women's Study: Daniel
Category: Women
Taught By: DVD-Driven
Description:

In this Daniel study, Beth Moore teaches how to live with integrity in today's self-absorbed society. The prophet Daniel faced unbelievable pressures to compromise his faith, to live in a hostile culture, and to confront temptations and threats. Today, Christ-followers face many of the same trials.

This Old Testament study falls in two parts. The first part deals with Daniel's life as he faced the kind of pressures and temptations Christians encounter today. Daniel models how to develop enduring integrity in an enticing world. The second part explores thrilling prophecies from the time of Daniel through the second coming of Christ.
