Title: Big Splash Baptism Weekend
Category: Baptism
Description:

Baptism is an important outward sign of belief in Jesus and shows a willingness to surrender to God's power in our lives. During Mar. 25-26 services, we'll celebrate those who make the decision to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior with a Big Splash Weekend. All are welcome, adults and students—first timers, re-baptisms, or those sprinkled and want to be obedient. No testimony, no talking...just one baptism after another! Since epic will not meet, students should attend services in the Main Theater.

To learn more, our Baptism Orientation is an excellent resource for further explanation as to why we celebrate baptism the way we do. It's optional, but available if you have questions. Go to Events for upcoming classes.

It’s a big decision. But one you won't regret. Think about it. And when ready, we're here to take that step with you. If you know in advance, go ahead and register now. If not yet sure, but you decide "in the moment," we'll be ready with a change of clothes! Contact Lu Musselman with any questions.

Title: CIY Believe
Category: Students
Description:

CIY Believe is a high-energy weekend for middle school students packed with powerful worship, intense drama and teaching. We not only worship together, but also engage in life-challenging discussions as students discover ways in which God is calling them to be Kingdom workers.

On social media, students often post #Blessed. In many circumstances it's used correctly, but the perspective is wrong. What we think we own is really on loan, and when students use #Blessed, it’s usually associated with getting something great for themselves. Students aren’t understanding why they’re blessed, just that they are. This year’s “Open” theme, truly defines what it means to be generous because we are blessed by God. The character of God goes against our natural tendencies to hold on to the things God gives us instead of holding open those things God gives us to others. By exploring 2 Corinthians 9, students will learn how God is calling them to be Open and generous in every way.

The conference is at the BB&T Arena in Cincinnati. Buses depart from SouthBrook on Friday, Feb. 17 at 4 p.m. and return on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $65 through Jan. 22, $80 from Jan. 23-Feb. 12, and $100 from Feb.13-15. Finalized parent information letter will be sent by Feb. 6 to the email used at regression time.

Title: CIY Mix
Category: Students
Description:
MIX is a four-day event for 6th-8th graders intentionally crafted to engage students through tactile, interactive and fun activities coupled with Biblical teaching and small group interaction.

MIX understands middle school students need their own experience. At a unique time in their lives, students are growing and learning different than any other age group. Still young enough to need to play, but old enough to start understanding some core ideals that will stay with them the rest of their lives. For this reason, MIX isn’t designed for high school students or preteens. It’s specifically designed for middle school students–for it’s their chance to be exactly who they are: to play, listen and learn as themselves.

It’s also created for adult leaders to build relationships with students that will last long after the MIX experience. At MIX, students will come to understand their identity in God’s Kingdom, and be challenged to embrace the Kingdom work He has prepared for them.

Arrive at SouthBrook on June 25 at 10:30 a.m. for check in and bus departure from the new parking lot by Dayton Christian. Return on June 29 at 12 p.m. Cost is $325 through March 31; $350 from Apr. 1-25; $375 from Apr. 26-May 31; and $400 from June 1-10.

Title: CIY Move
Category: Students
Description:

CIY Move is designed to amplify the call of Christ on the lives of high school students to become Kingdom workers. We'll meet at SouthBrook at 9 a.m. on June 19, stay in dorms at Hope College in Holland, MI, and return on June 24 at 4 p.m. Cost is: $325 from Jan. 4-31; $350 from Feb. 1-28; $375 from Mar. 1-31; and $400 from April 1-May 15.

Sometimes you’re caught off guard. You’re doing what you’re supposed to. You know all the right answers to all the right questions. AND THEN…the unexpected happens, and you realize nothing is what you thought it would be. Sometimes you struggle to live up to your word and feel condemned by failures. You’re terrified of what you know you should do, convinced the task is too great and your influence too small. AND THEN…you come face to face with genuine love and acceptance you didn’t think was possible. You experience a power that is unstoppable.

Simon Peter was a simple man minding his own business, doing the things a fisherman does. One early morning he was exhausted and frustrated, having spent an entire night fishing with nothing to show for it. Things just didn’t seem to be going his way. AND THEN…he met Jesus. At MOVE, we'll look at several stories from Simon Peter's life and see what “AND THEN…” moments Jesus might have in store for you.

Title: Men's Series: If
Category: Men
Description:

If is a powerful word. Some people are stuck in if only, trudging through lives marked with regret. But God wants us to live lives marked with possibilities, with the what if attitude that looks forward to the future with confidence. Why? Because the answer to "If God is for us, who can be against us?" is "No one." God is always on our side. Every day, in every way.

In this series, Mark Batterson helps overcome feelings of guilt, fear, and doubt, because in Christ there is no condemnation. Unpacking the promises of Romans 8, he shows that we are more than conquerors—now and forever. And because of that, the possibilities for our lives are limitless.

Title: PLAY Study (1st in series)
Category: General
Taught By: DVD-Driven
Description:

We want God to use our Personality, Learnings, Abilities and Yearnings to go into the world and make it as He intended. Personality is a combination of characteristics that make us! Learnings are accumulated data and wisdom from pain experiences that grow, mature and refine us. Abilities, combined with the Spirit in us, make something special come out of us to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Yearnings are bringing God into the world as our gifts intersect with the world’s real needs. When God is in us, there will be places in our soul that burn with His desire to set the world right.

In this study, we come to know ourselves better and see how God can use our lives for His bigger purposes. In an Assessment, we determine Spiritual Abilities—gifts that, combined with the Spirit in us, make something special of Him come out of us. We discover these divinely enabled Abilities that we may not know we have since surrendering our lives to Christ or that may be hidden because of not yet surrendering.

Title: Provoke
Category: General
Description:

Leadership is a series of events or teachings we have either learned along the way or if humble enough, have learned from someone else. By listening to others who humbly share their experiences, we would be amazed at how quickly each of us would pick up our own problems. Yet often, leaders are not vulnerable enough to let others see their weaknesses. Sharing those fears quite simply reminds us that we are not alone and together, we can accomplish so much more.

Some of us are too comfortable. Life is good. No big problems.
Could we be Provoked to do more?

Some are tired, worn out, and Provoked by life’s circumstances.
Could we be comforted and shown that we are not alone?

Through Provoke, a NEW! leadership session, we'll look closely at these questions. Although geared toward business people, it's open to anyone as we meet monthly on the first Tuesday from 7-8 a.m. in the Small Theater. No cost or registration required.

Leaders are learners—and the best investment you can make in your leadership is to spend 2 days at The Global Leadership Summit.

At the Summit, you will gather with thousands of church and business leaders across North America. As a proven tool to leverage, the Summit produces compelling outcomes for leaders by presenting opportunities to sharpen your skills and develop the people you lead. Commit to being a part of this annual event designed to stretch and challenge you with world-class speakers, interactive dialogue and practical training. No matter where you lead, the Summit is a world-class experience designed to help you get better and embrace your grander vision—the reason God called you to lead. Contact: GLS Team.

The Summit will be telecast LIVE at SouthBrook Miamisburg on Thursday, Aug. 10 and Friday, Aug. 11 (9:30–5:30 EST) from Willow Creek Church.

Title: Wills & Legacy Giving Class
Category: Financial
Description:

Our Wills & Legacy Giving class on Saturday, Feb. 11 is sponsored by Financial Planning Ministry and is available at no cost. Serving the Christian community for over 30 years, FPM provides stewardship and estate planning seminars and assists in the creation of personal estate plans with wills and living trusts. Designing a legacy allows you to...
–Pass on your values. Preparing for the future reflects good stewardship and protects the things that mean the most to you.
–Save yourself and your beneficiaries time and money. Establishing a living trust may lower your estate taxes and will eliminate probate.
–Have peace of mind. In your legacy plan, you can ensure your desires on medical decisions, guardianship of your minor children, and distribution of your valuables will be fulfilled. Contact: Jarod Christman.

Title: Women's Study: Entrusted
Category: Women
Description:

We were never meant to take our journey of faith alone or in secret. God has entrusted us with the great and mighty gift of the Gospel, something too precious and life-giving to keep ourselves. In this Beth Moore study, you'll guard what God has entrusted to you, further His kingdom by sharing Christ with others, and pour into future generations just as Paul once mentored Timothy. Because in this journey of joy and hardship, we need each other to stay the course and live lives of faithfulness. Contact: Kory Buttrey.

Title: Women's Study: Sermon on the Mount
Category: Women
Description:

Most of us have only encountered the Sermon on the Mount in fragments, considering its subdivisions as complete teachings in their own right – a study on blessedness, a reflection on the Lord's Prayer, a meditation on lilies of the field. But what if we navigated these three chapters as they were originally heard: as one cohesive, well-ordered message, intended to challenge us to think differently about repentance, salvation, and sanctification? This Jen Wilkin study does just that. Contact: Kory Buttrey.
