Saints and Sinners

When it comes to standing before God, or kneeling before God, or any moment when we think God might be listening or watching—meaning, pretty much all the time—we need to be ready to identify ourselves as people who are sinners. We need to name ourselves as people who are in need of mercy. Jesus met our fall with mercy. He jumped into the world to help us find our way out of sin. And who calls us to show mercy to one another. We need to confess. We need to repent. And we need each other to make it out all right. It's the only way we can ever really be free and  know that our confessions will always be met by the mercy of God.
