SouthBrook Liberty

A Note from Charlie...

I
n March 2016, SouthBrook launched a new campus in the Liberty Township area. Since that initial launch, we have seen the growth gradually decline. Over time, our Liberty campus struggled to match the pace of the resources needed to sustain it, both financial and people resources. And after much prayer and discussion, the Leadership of SouthBrook has decided to close the campus as of Sunday, June 11. At church services on that weekend, I spoke to those in attendance in order to cast a new vision of combining both sites under the roof at the Miamisburg campus.

Failure humbles us. Melts our pride. For some of us, we see constant reminders of our failures. We are graced with a deeper humility as a result of the embarrassment that may come with failure. For me, this one is a little more personal, though. And in the end, this one is on me.

Coach Bear Bryant once said, “If we have an intercepted pass, I threw it. I'm the head coach. If we get a punt blocked, I caused it. A bad practice, a bad game, it's up to the head coach to assume his responsibility…If anything goes bad, I did it. If anything goes semi-good, we did it. If anything goes really good, then you did it.”

We welcome any of your questions or concerns, and we hope to be able to provide answers as to what the future can look like. Failure only remains failure if we do not grow and learn from our experiences. We will take this opportunity to trust in God's provision.
